Mission Rebels (1). San Francisco 1967.

My father Stanley teaching an adult education class for the Mission Rebels at 674 South Van Ness Avenue.  The Mission Rebels were a youth-serving organization founded in the 1960's that took a stand for social justice: they fought for the War on Poverty and against the Vietnam War. They ran the City's food stamp program at one point, and organized for rent control.
When we returned to the states in late 1972, my father ran their breakfast program, bringing hot meals to poor inner-city youth.
